Zanzibar atoll is an excellent area for scuba diving.

Mnemba Atoll

The nearby Mnemba Atoll is one of its best known diving spots. Its warm water, around 27°C (80°F), and good visibility allow our guests to discover a colourful marine life. Since it is a popular scuba diving location, fishes are used to divers’ presence. Our guests can observe ocean animal life at a close distance and appreciate its beauty. It is a stunning diving location for experts and beginners alike. The surrounding waters are rich in a large number of beautiful tropical reef fishes and marine creatures. Be it majestic whale sharks, which migrate past Zanzibar between August and November, or rare species of nudibranchs to name just a few.

Big Wall

A popular destination for experienced divers is a sheer drop-off called the Big Wall. It plunges steeply from 35 m to 70 m. Here you can observe dolphins and turtles swimming in the blue water. Other sites include drift diving locations along the western area, the lunar landscape of Wattabomi, or the reef at Kichwani. Its corals rise meters above the surface.

Leven Bank

Leven Bank, north of Milele Villas, is an exciting place for scuba diving. With depths from 18 to 30 meters it is suitable for more experienced divers. Here you can see such big game fish as tuna, king fish, barracuda, trevally, wrasse, big moray eel and other reef fish.

Our partner, Fun Divers Zanzibar, a nearby PADI dive centre, offer introductory lessons to beginners and arrange excursions to interesting diving locations off Zanzibar’s coast. Their equipment is well maintained.
