Tipping Guidelines

In Zanzibar, tipping is a voluntary and discretionary practice. There is no standard tip expected in bars and restaurants, unlike in many Western countries.
However, it is essential to be considerate of the impact tipping can have on the local community. Tailor your tip accordingly. Take into account the level of service received and the skills required for the job, to maintain social balance and incentivize responsible work.
If you wish to tip the staff at Milele Villas, you will find a tip box in your villa. Tips deposited there will be shared equally among all staff members. However, feel free to add a direct tip for any staff member who has provided exceptional service during your stay.
Being mindful of your tipping practices in Zanzibar ensures that you support the local community and show appreciation for the services rendered without causing any social imbalances. It also helps promote a positive and respectful relationship between tourists and the locals.
